 Is Timmy back?
Admit it, when you saw Tim Thomas out of position for a Daniel Alfredsson cross crease slapper, you were nervous. You thought it was a goal, I thought it was a goal, Derek Morris thought it was a goal, hell, even Tim Thomas had a flashing thought of it being a goal.
If you haven't witnessed the save, here it is:
Thomas, who was out of position, dove across the crease and snatched a certain goal away from Daniel Alfredsson, who received a great pass through Derek Morris and Blake Wheeler (who was covering for Zdeno Chara).
It was the type of save that made Bruins fans jump to their feet, yell and maybe even give a "Guido Fist Pump" to show off their appreciation. The bigger question here is does that save mean that Tim Thomas is back on the road to being the guy we saw last season?
 Guido fist pump for Timmy?
I'll be the first to admit that I have killed Tim Thomas in this young season. I'm not the biggest Thomas fan and the contract he "earned" is a god damn cap killer. For those who are not aware, Thomas is earning $6M this season and next season, followed by $5M and ending the contract with $3M before being old enough to file for AARP benefits. I feel that last year was a "flash in the pan" year for Thomas and he'll steadily start to decline due to his age and potentially increased playing time.
I also think it's a horrible idea to have Thomas playing for Team USA, as he should be focusing on the NHL season. Go read the link, I think we could have another Dice-K/World Baseball Classic catastrophy all over again.
So is Tim Thomas back? Did the win in Ottawa prove to you that Thomas is slowly coming back to his Vezina form?
Personally, I don't think so, but you can never count a Vezina winning goaltender out. Even if his name is Jose Theodore.

I will also agree that I don't want to see him playing for Team USA (Dice K anyone?).
