HOCKEY WARS: THE EMPIRE (MAY) STRIKE BACK?

A summer ago, in a professional rink far, far, away…

It was a period of civil war.
Wade Arnott, yelling
Into a microphone, saying
That his client is finished
With contract talks in Boston.

After the talks died, Burke
Phoned in to acquire the
Scoring winger to help Toronto
Do something in the NHL.

Pursued by Kessel’s
Sinister agent, Peter
Chiarelli sent the baby
To the north, as the
Bruins prepared to restore
Peace to the black and gold galaxy…

Since the goal scorer was traded to Toronto, the Bruins forces have been stuck without a goal scorer to burden the load. With the injuries to both Milan Lucic and Marc Savard, the Bruins struggled to put pucks in the net and goals on the board. The Bruins were looking towards something, someone to help them win some games.

In desperate struggles, they looked towards their leader to inspire and teach. Their captain stood tall and took the load onto his shoulders as the Bruins began to rattle off wins on the road. They readied themselves with hard work, goal scoring and great goaltending by a young, promising goaltender who many believe will soon take over the crown at the goaltender throne.

But the epic battle was about to begin. A star in Toronto, Phil Kessel was to return to Boston as boo rained down from the Gallery Gods. His return was supposed to be redemption for him, proving to the team that traded him that he had the goal scoring force to defeat them…

…but it was for naught. The Bruins, behind Marc Savard, showed Phil Kessel and the Evil Empire of the Toronto Maple Leafs that the Bruins are still the class of the Northeast Division. In a 7-2 romp, the Bruins outskated, outscored and outplayed the Leafs until the final horn rang.

On Thursday, December 10 the Empire returns to the site of their first battle where they will stand behind their leader as he tries to defeat the team who once cast him aside. Charoda and his Bruins will look to take their team to the next level and continue their pursuit of a top 5 pick.
